Real Estate Law Clerk – Join Our Legal Team!

Are you an experienced Real Estate Law Clerk looking for an opportunity to make an impact in municipal law? We are seeking a dedicated professional to support real estate transactions, expropriation processes, and complex municipal contracts.

What You’ll Do:

One or more of the following:

  • Real Estate Transactions: Prepare and close agreements of purchase and sale, land exchanges, easements, leases, encroachments, and related legal documents.
  • Expropriation Processes: Manage files, serve notices, review appraisals, facilitate settlements, and ensure compliance with the Expropriations Act.
  • Municipal Contracts: Assist in the coordination and completion of legal agreements related to municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Legal Liaison: Work closely with internal and external legal counsel, municipal departments, and stakeholders on real estate, expropriation, and conveyancing matters.
  • Legal Research & Documentation: Conduct land title searches, review reference plans, prepare legal correspondence, and maintain organized electronic legal records.

What You Bring:

  • ILCO certification or equivalent law clerk diploma.
  • 5+ years of real estate law experience, municipal experience is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of real property law, and conveyancing.
  • Ability to analyze legal documents, conduct research, and maintain organized records.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, OnCorp, Teraview and other legal related tools.

In this role, you’ll benefit from the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement that prioritizes meaningful in-person connection. A minimum of two days per week on-site is expected, with additional in-person presence as operational needs evolve.

This arrangement allows for a blend of in person and hybrid work that adapts to support both organizational priorities and employee flexibility and is subject to change over time.

It's important to note that your off-site work location must be within the province of Ontario. This ensures that we're compliant with all regulations and policies.
