Responsibilities:
What does a typical day as a Project Manager, Civil Engineering and Construction at ALTRA | SANEXEN look like?- Lead all project phases: From planning to coordination and monitoring, ensuring the success of each project.
- Coordinate teams and subcontractors: Direct efforts to guarantee optimal efficiency and collaboration on site.
- Review and manage contractual aspects: Ensure work is done in accordance with specifications, addenda, and other contractual documents.
- Ensure project quality and profitability: Utilize the company’s management tools to achieve goals with precision.
- Manage budgets and schedules: Track project progress, adjust timelines, and meet project specifications to deliver exceptional results.
- Facilitate communication between stakeholders: Maintain constant communication with clients and stakeholders to ensure flawless coordination.
- Select subcontractors and suppliers: Negotiate pricing, assess qualifications, and ensure the selection of top partners according to ALTRA | SANEXEN standards.
- Collaborate to define work methods: Work with the project teams to develop innovative approaches to maximize efficiency and safety.
- Ensure on-site safety: Prepare and implement a health and safety plan that complies with ALTRA | SANEXEN’s standards.
- Contribute to project success: Perform various related tasks to ensure smooth project execution.
Qualifications:
To succeed as a Project Manager, Civil Engineering and Construction, you should have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering, or relevant experience in infrastructure projects.
- Five (5) or more years of experience in project management with a range of responsibilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, and other project management tools to optimize planning and tracking.
- Knowledge of cost estimation techniques (a strong asset) to anticipate needs and manage resources efficiently.
- Excellent command of French (oral and written) and a good command of English (preferred): Given the diversity of our team and the need to communicate with local, pan-Canadian, and international clients and partners, the ability to understand and communicate in both languages is a must
- Proven skills in management, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving to successfully deliver projects on time and within budget.
- A proactive mindset and natural leadership skills to guide teams and ensure project success.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with various stakeholders and drive projects forward.
