Job Overview:
Temporary (12 months) full-time position (35 hrs/week- on site)
Salary from $27.01 to $38.87 per hour, depending on experience
We are currently looking for a medical technologist to work full-time with the clinical biomedical lab team for a minimum 12-month replacement with a possibility for extension. Responsibilities:
- Sample management activities including reception, registration and transportation of samples.
- Perform laboratory techniques primarily in support of molecular genetics, specialized histology and biochemistry procedures.
- Collaborate with the preparation and review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Maintain laboratory equipment and chemical inventory records.
- Participate in the development of new techniques.
- Participate in the follow-up required to meet regulatory standards for biomedical analysis.
- Other related and miscellaneous tasks may be added in time.
Qualifications:
- Member of the OPTMQ
- Experience in molecular genetics and histology.
- Holds a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline (preferred).
- Bilingual, French and English, written and spoken.
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office
- Understanding of Accreditation Canada Standards, CAP, CLIA and ISO 15189.
