About the role

We are seeking an experienced IT Manager to lead our technology team in a dynamic transportation and logistics environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT management, coupled with knowledge of the transportation industry and project management expertise.

This role is critical in supporting our day-to-day operations and driving technological advancements within our organization.

Requirements

What you’ll do here:

  1. Team Leadership and Management
  • Oversee and mentor a team of IT professionals
  • Assign tasks, set priorities, and manage team performance
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Operational Support
  • Ensure the smooth operation of all IT systems critical to our transportation and logistics business
  • Develop and implement IT policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and security
  • Provide technical support and problem-solving for complex issues
  • Project Management
  • Lead the implementation of a new Transportation Management System (TMS)
  • Plan, execute, and oversee IT projects aligned with business objectives
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively
  • Strategic Planning
  • Collaborate with senior management to align IT strategies with business goals
  • Identify opportunities for technology improvements and cost savings
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies
  • Vendor Management
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with IT vendors and service providers
  • Ensure service level agreements are met and maintain positive vendor relationships
  • Security and Compliance
  • Implement and maintain robust IT security measures
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and data protection standards

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in IT management roles
  • Strong knowledge of the transportation and logistics industry
  • Proven experience in project management, preferably with TMS implementations
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Certifications such as PMP, ITIL, or relevant technical certifications are a plus

What you bring to the table:

  • In-depth understanding of IT infrastructure and network systems
  • Familiarity with transportation management systems and logistics software
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices
  • Experience with cloud technologies and SaaS platforms
  • Strong budgeting and resource allocation skills
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
