About the position:
Seeking a Manager, Construction Services with a high level of experience to lead a team comprising of contract administration and site inspectors working on residential land development projects in the Cambridge/Kitchener/Waterloo area. In this role you will be responsible for field services from beginning to end, utilizing company resources effectively and managing projects through internal and external consulting teams and contractors.
This role reports to the Director, Engineering.
What will you do:
• Provide technical support, coaching and mentoring to the field services team, managing and supervising the day-to-day operations.
• Advanced to expert knowledge of construction regulations and standards
• Experience in successful team leadership. Will lead a team of contract administrators and site inspectors
• Skilled in written communication
• Create, monitor, and update project schedules ensuring proper resource allocation of the field services team within established budgets provided by the Project Managers.
• Identify current and future resourcing needs, and participate in the recruitment process of hiring new talent
• Manage scheduling, non-project related time sheet approvals, training, and performance management.
• Ensure site health and safety procedures are followed
Requirements
About you:
• Minimum of 8 years experience in senior construction/field services positions, experience in a management role is an asset.
• Advanced knowledge of construction regulations and standards
• Excellent time management, communication, and organization skills
• P.Eng or C.E.T credentials are considered an asset
