The ideal candidate will possess strong quantitative skills and a keen understanding of manufacturing processes. As a Manufacturing Costing Analyst, you will play a critical role in analyzing production costs, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing strategies to enhance efficiency and profitability within manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities:
1. Cost Analysis: Conduct detailed analysis of manufacturing costs, including materials, labor, and overhead expenses, to identify cost drivers and areas for improvement.
2. Variance Analysis: Analyze variances between standard and actual costs, investigating root causes and recommending corrective actions to minimize deviations and improve cost accuracy.
3. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual manufacturing budgets and forecasts, providing insights into cost trends and potential risks.
4. Product Costing: Calculate and maintain accurate product costs, considering factors such as raw material prices, labor rates, and overhead allocation methods.
5. Process Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization, implementing best practices to streamline operations and improve profitability.
6. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and valuation, ensuring accuracy in cost allocation and identifying opportunities to reduce excess inventory and carrying costs.
7. Reporting and Presentation: Prepare regular reports and presentations for management, summarizing key cost metrics, variance analysis findings, and recommendations for improvement.
8. Costing Systems Maintenance: Maintain and update costing systems and databases, ensuring data integrity and accuracy in cost calculations.
