Coordinate and prepare monthly financial statements and variance reports

 •  Monitor assigned program operational performance against plan by providing monthly status and year end forecast reports
 •  Track progress of assigned projects through budget tracking and variance analysis
 •  Business partnering with various departments within the organization to gain a better understanding of on- going and planned activities
 •  Prepare and maintain the capital planning records and funding requests made by various departments
 •  Provide support to programs and services by assisting in navigating financial and non-financial data to improve operational efficiency
 •  Update and maintain cash flow forecasts and portfolio forecasts
 •  Assist with monthly, quarterly and year-end close processes of funds and accounts
 •  Assist in the preparation and review of account reconciliations to ensure quality control and accuracy of accounting records
 •  Assist in the preparation of the annual financial statements, including note disclosures and supporting working papers required for the external audit review
 •  Coordinate the external audit review of accounting systems and records
 •  Ensure accounting policies used are in compliance with internal policies and industry guidelines
 •  Support preparation of program budgets, regularly monitor and analyze variances an report on strategies to achieve accountability to the Strategic Plan
 •  Perform capital project reconciliations and prepare other required ministry submissions
 •  Participate in business case preparation and tracking, including providing programs with financial and statistical support and expertise regarding costing of initiatives
 •  Provide strategic problem solving and support to assigned program leaders and business units
 •  Participate in projects involving the internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to budget and business intelligence tools implementations, assistance with analysis of various requests for proposal, costing for specific initiatives, etc.
 •  Other ad hoc tasks and projects as assigned
