Job Description
• Cut, clean and trim fish or seafood
• Set up and operate machines to clean, cut, smoke, brine, dehydrate or otherwise process fish or seafood products
• Set up and operate machines to bag, box or otherwise package fish and seafood products
• Check products and packaging for defects and to ensure conformance to company standards and perform corrective machine adjustments as required
• Record production information such as quantity, weight, date and type of products packaged.
Qualification Requirements
• At least Secondary Education.
• Previous fish plant employment experience is an asset, but it’s not required. On the job training is required.
• Good oral communication. Must be able to speak and understand English.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including opening, closing, weekends and holidays
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and work under pressure
• Must work well within a fish plant team culture
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision and have a strong initiative
• A quick-learner, positive and team-oriented attitude
• Must be able to perform efficiently during high volume peak periods
• Must be able to handle physically demanding, heavy loads and repetitive tasks. Standing for extended hours
• Must be dependable and organized
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, if necessary, weekends and holidays.
Job Type: Full-Time, 40 hours/week
Salary: $16.75 – $ 19.00 /hour (To be negotiated)
Expected Start Date: As soon as possible
