The Project Accountant supports the development group in new build construction development, renovations and special projects by coordinating all internal and external accounting initiatives. This includes working directly with other JOEY Restaurant corporate office partners as well as contractors and vendors.
The Project Accountant will work with project teams to establish budgets, reconciliations, cashflow forecasting and performance control reporting. The Project Accountant will be responsible for providing accounting and occasional administrative support to the Development team ensuring that processes and protocols are adhered to.
Reporting regularly to all internal stakeholders on accounting for all projects under development.

Role and Responsibilities:

 •  Coordinate all purchase orders, change orders, invoices and prime contracts for new build development, conversions and renovations
 •  Coordinate project performance control reports and forecasting cash flow spend to all stakeholders
 •  Review and track contract terms to ensure the correct scope, shipping and taxes are accounted for in the purchase order and budget
 •  Communicate to Project Managers any discrepancies in billings and schedule delays
 •  Collaborate and perform point of contact responsibilities with Finance department
 •  Weekly cost reconciliation to ensure spend to date is accurately reported to all stakeholders

 •  Participate in all weekly project meetings and provide updates as required pertaining to project performance control

Requirements
 •  Post‐secondary education with 1 ‐ 2 years of relevant work experience in project accounting field
 •  Excellence in organizational, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to show proven examples of addressing communication challenges in the past
 •  An action-oriented attitude, with proven examples of proactivity and initiative in the past
 •  The ability to thrive in a high intensity and high-performance environment
 •  An ability to summarize and present data concisely for executive‐level presentations and reports
 •  Computer skills: Advanced Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook
 •  Knowledgeable in construction contracts, change order documentation and other construction accounting documentation
 •  Experience in the construction industry would be an asset
 •  Knowledge of Restaurant Operations would be an asset
 •  This is an in-office role based in Vancouver, BC.
 •  Contract Term: Ending August 2025.

Salary Range:

$70,000-80,000 / year
