Your Contribution:

Presently, we have a position as Senior Site Inspector available in our Saint John, NB location. As part of our Civil Team there, you will work alongside our experienced group of professionals, and have the opportunity to expand your career while being part of a community that values taking care of its employees and its clients. Your main responsibilities will be:

 •  Apply and promote Englobe’s health and safety rules;
 •  Inspect, test and measure quality and quantity of materials, products, and installations to ensure compliance with contract specifications and construction drawings;
 •  Utilize a construction level to verify elevations, grades, pipe slopes, etc.;
 •  Record all field work for record drawing mark-ups and creation;
 •  Review shop drawings and confirm product delivery;
 •  Maintain an accurate list of work completed and materials for contractor progress payments;
 •  Prepare daily field inspection reports during inspections;
 •  Review and properly reference construction drawings;
 •  Ability to make decisions in the field with assistance from senior Englobe staff;
 •  Communicate effectively in the field with onsite personnel including, client, residents, stakeholders and Englobe staff as needed;
 •  Mentor and train junior to intermediate inspection staff;
 •  Maintain the office inventory of inspection equipment and keep accurate records of equipment usage, status, repairs and condition.

Your Profile:

 •  A Diploma in Civil Technology or a Degree in Engineering. Previous construction or industry experience will also be considered;
 •  Minimum 10 years construction related experience;
 •  Must have valid drivers license and reliable transportation;
 •  Able to work independently, and within a team, and utilize good judgement;
 •  Ability and interest to work extended hours to meet construction needs;
 •  Self-motivated with the ability to motivate others;
 •  Knowledge and understanding of heavy equipment operations;
 •  Experience with construction documents and specifications;
 •  Good communication skills, both oral and written;
 •  Knowledge of Microsoft and AutoCAD software would be an asset;
 •  Previous experience with survey equipment would be an asset.
