Project Manager- Transit & Rail
Gannett Fleming is looking for an experienced Project Manager, Transit & Rail , responsible for client and design-team management of Transit and Rail projects to take on a significant role in the GTA region.
Specific responsibilities include coordinating the multidisciplinary technical team, managing the technical review and oversight process, and having oversight of the technical contract specifications in a large rail project. Additionally, this individual will be viewed as a key party to serve as a high-level point of contact between the client and Gannett Fleming.Successful candidates will have recognized authority in an area of specialization and be able to plan and develop projects or design activities which have significant impact on major company programs.
The Project Manager will apply technical skills as a subject matter expert in the coordination of planning, design, construction, procurement, technical oversight, value engineering, cost estimating, risk assessment, and/or scheduling. Provide expert opinion, prepare high level reports, and deliver presentations.A successful candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively and persuasively with individuals and in presentations to multi-disciplined groups.
Primary duties would include: client and design-team management of light rail, subway, and commuter rail projects. Manage the preparation of plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates. Plan, organize, and supervise project teams to ensure good contract performance.
- Scope development, cost control, staff management, quality control.
- Manage client’s budget, schedule, project communications and documentation.
- Coordinate work efforts and reviews work performed
- Manage the delivery of quality civil transportation projects on-time, within budget and to the satisfaction of the client.
- Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Professional Engineer Designation (P. Eng) is required
- 10+ years’ progressive experience in the planning, design, management and implementation of rail and transit related projects.
- Demonstrated experience with City of Toronto, TTC, TRCA, MTO, and other key stakeholders for rapid rail and transit protects.
- Demonstrated experience with roads, utilities, and other civil works in the context of a rail and transit project
- Demonstrated experience with multiple other disciplines involved in a rail and transit project
- Demonstrated experience in development and administration of technical contract documents
- Experience working as part of owners team in high pace large rail and transit projects
- Successful track record with experience in Ontario with an emphasis on working in the Greater Toronto Region
- Experience working with Metrolinx, TTC, and or Subways will be an asset
- Experience working in collaborative contracting models will be an asset
- Good working knowledge of traffic including Synchro, VISSIM will be considered an asset.
