Our client is a established design build contractor company based out of Burlington dedicated to light industrial projects throughout Canada.

Job Description

Construction Project Manager's Main Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Oversees total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule
• Manage multiple design build and construction management projects concurrently working with project coordination and site supervision resources collaboratively as well as the pre-construction team.
• Negotiate contracts with local subtrades and manage relationships throughout lifecycle.
• Responsible for overall project performance and reporting in areas including, but not limited to safety, cost/budget, schedule, quality and project status
• Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
• Monitors project performance, schedule, costs, equipment, manpower, materials, safety and environment, and quality control
• Conducts site tours, including safety inspections
• Lead by example to ensure policies, procedures and standards are adhered to
• Mentors, coaches, supervises and assesses performance of direct reports and other team members
• Oversees project from pre-construction to closeout.

• 15+ years of project management experience working with design build and industrial contractors
• Full cycle experience overseeing design build and construction management projects valued between $20M-$80M
• Asset: experience working on food processing, or temperature controlled facility projects.
• Experience managing large contracts involving trades, consultants, construction management firms.
• Post-secondary diploma in a construction related discipline
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of different construction methods, sequencing, potential problems, and timelines
• Familiar with project management and estimating software programs
• Knowledge of relevant construction law and building code
