Adecco is currently hiring a full-time dynamic and experienced Bilingual Media Relations & Communications Specialist to lead media engagement and strategic communications efforts for our client in Ottawa, ON. Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the organization and media outlets.
  • Monitor media coverage and provide leadership with insightful analysis.
  • Identify and develop media opportunities aligned with organizational goals.
  • Draft press releases, coordinate press conferences, and manage media inquiries.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with journalists, broadcasters, and digital media professionals.
  • Arrange media interviews for executives and provide detailed briefings.
  • Develop op-eds, articles, and editorial content for external publication.
  • Write and edit speeches, briefing notes, reports, and media statements.
  • Support regional and departmental teams in executing media-related campaigns.
  • Ensure brand consistency and alignment across all publications.
  • Provide strategic guidance on paid media campaigns and advertising efforts.
  • Assist internal teams in crafting communication materials for events and advocacy initiatives.
  • Organize media training sessions for staff and key stakeholders.
  • Oversee translation efforts to ensure bilingual accessibility of communication materials.
  • Manage digital content updates on the organization's website and social media platforms.
  • Offer strategic communication advice to teams, event organizers, and executive committees.
  • Adapt national and coalition-based communication strategies for member engagement.
  • Collaborate with partners on joint media initiatives.
  • Contribute to the creation of mobilization materials and engagement strategies.
  • Assist in planning and delivering communication workshops and training programs.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • At least seven years of relevant experience, ideally within a labour, political, or advocacy organization.
  • In-depth knowledge of media relations, public relations strategies, and political communications.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Full bilingual proficiency in English and French (Exempt level required).
  • Recent hands-on experience with digital media, content management systems, and social media strategy.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills with media professionals.
  • A demonstrated commitment to organizational values, human rights, and social justice initiatives.
  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
