MISSION
The ideal candidate will be someone technically inclined with the ability to work under limited supervision. They will play an essential role in ensuring the space runs smoothly and trouble-free, providing general caretaking of the facility and equipment, setting up for workshops and programs, machine and equipment maintenance and assisting members and participants where needed.
The Facility Support Person must be organized, enthusiastic, and energetic, able to interact with others in a professional and courteous manner.
PRIORITIES- Ensure cleanliness and order of the shop and facility
- Provide basic service to equipment as needed
- Sorting and organizing tools and materials
- Assist members where required and support shop operations
- Machine setup and operation as needed
- Equipment and facility maintenance
- Help the team in the shop and otherwise as needed
- Maintaining consumables like welding gases and propane. Ordering when required
- Other duties as required
- Willingness to learn
- Technically and mechanically inclined
- Physically capable of lifting loads approximately 50lbs in weight
- Knowledge of woodworking, metal-working and machine shop equipment a plus
- Knowledge of digital fabrication equipment (3D Printers, laser cutter, CNC router) a plus
- Knowledge of various CAD, CAM and Design software and concepts a plus
- Forklift or reach-truck experience a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Organized with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Reliable with patience and professionalism
