Design Development Manager

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Design Development Manager with a passion for high-rise residential projects to join our client's. Job Description

Working in close partnership with the Design Development Team, you will:

• Coordinate design development efforts across all consultant disciplines.
• Lead design coordination meetings, track action items, and follow up with consultants.
• Support the Development and Consultant teams through the Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Document phases.
• Collaborate with the construction and estimating teams, offering insights into Value Engineering opportunities for senior management review.
• Work closely with the Development team to align on project assumptions and objectives.
• Establish design deliverable milestones, and manage consultants to meet project schedules.
• Track critical project components and ensure all milestones are met.
• Review and coordinate architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, interior, and site servicing drawings for consistency.
• Facilitate interactions with municipalities and regulatory bodies to secure necessary permits.
• Prepare Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for consultant selection, review proposals, and make award recommendations.
• Generate monthly design reports as required.
• Ensure the accuracy of the Building Information Modeling (BIM) model, identifying and resolving issues before tender.
• Oversee marketing material reviews and ensure alignment with sales documentation.
• Confirm that all tender documents accurately reflect sold suite layouts and identify any necessary revisions.

• A Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in design or architecture within the high-rise residential sector.
• Expertise in building documentation and modeling software, such as Revit and ACC.
• Familiarity with municipal building processes and Ontario Building Code requirements.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and the ability to verify consultant work for accuracy.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• High energy, innovative thinking, and a proactive approach to design and planning.
