We are offering a long term contract opportunity for a Data Engineer in Toronto, Ontario. This role is within the Hospitality industry, where the selected individual will join our IT Delivery team, focusing on developing custom data pipelines and managing Azure data platform solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Developing innovative solutions for data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
- Actively participating in the discovery of requirements, use cases, and outcomes.
- Building, configuring, and securing Azure data platform solutions.
- Migrating, optimizing, and refactoring Data Lakes, Delta Lakes, Data Warehouses, and Lakehouses.
- Implementing data modelling techniques for efficient data storage and retrieval.
- Collaborating with different levels of the organization to understand and translate institutional knowledge into technical solutions.
- Using Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, Cloud Technologies, Databricks, and other related skills to enhance data engineering processes.
- Designing, building, optimizing, and maintaining prototypes and products across Microsoft Azure’s Data Platform.
- Assisting business partners in realizing actionable insights and value from the organization’s enterprise data platforms.
- Providing strong service, communication, and problem-solving skills throughout all responsibilities.
