Job Summary
The Quality Control (QC) Technician will work closely with the Quality team and focus on the execution of an established quality control program crafted to ensure the continuous production of products with established company standards. Emphasis will be placed on the checking and testing of products throughout the production process, documentation and auditing quality processes.This is a full time position with a 12-hour continental bi-weekly rotating shift schedule (Day shift: 8am - 8pm, Night shift: 8pm - 8am).
Key Responsibilities- Demonstrate knowledge of all Production and Quality Control related documents including Product Specification Sheet, Production Line Operator Product Inspection Sheets & ISO Processes and Procedures.
- Print Product Specification Sheets, verify with QC Manual and Print Labels when required.
- Competently use and operate all QC Tools, machinery and equipment pertaining to quality control and raw materials. Clean and Maintain equipment in good working condition. Report and request repair or replacement for QC Tools and equipment
- Measure, test, and visually inspect products in accordance with both internal and external standards. Make frequent plant & yard inspections, attend Yard counts and site visit when required by Plant Management.
- Recognize defects and/or deviation from Product Specifications and report while maintaining adequate written records. Prepare reports for Production and Maintenance Departments if any corrections required.
- Complete inspections, perform quality control tests as required while committed to Health and Safety regulations of the company. Follow up instructions and report any non-conforming parts to Production Supervisor and/or Quality Assurance Manager.
- Place finished products that are out of specifications on hold and prepare NCR [ Non-Conformance Report]. Perform secondary checks & tests on products on hold or in stock and inspect product returned by customers. Record and report observations made during the analysis.
- Ensure good housekeeping as per the Safety standards set by Company. Follow up 5S and house keeping activities in safe and orderly way as per the Company policies and procedures and safe work practices.
- Willing to function in other departments and capacities as may be required by the Quality Assurance Manager or Plant Manager, while complying with health and safety standards.
- Completion of high school diploma or practical equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in a Quality related field
- Completion of a Quality Control Related Certification and/or Diploma is asset.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Good written and verbal communication skills

Working conditions
Incumbent spends almost 100% of their time in a plant environment requiring varying degrees of moderate physical labour. Lifting, pulling, pushing heavy objects (20-50lbs), standing for long periods and walking cover the majority of the work.Personal safety is affected by exposure to heat, dust, noise levels and the use of equipment such as sharp blades and presses. Considerable amount of sensory attention is required. Limited control of work pace and unexpected workflow, bring considerable stresses to this position.
