The Senior Business Analyst will be based in Toronto, working with various Finance and IT teams to analyze, translate and document requirements, providing guidance, and recommending solutions.
What will you do?- Lead the analysis and requirements effort on multiple initiatives impacting the eDR application.
- Drive requirements discovery and elicitation from Finance and Risk stakeholders from backlog of internal and external requests.
- Plan and Lead requirement discussions, capturing data and business rules requirements.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders and IT team members (incl. Developers, Architects, PM, QE’s, BA’s) to build consensus and drive towards delivery of the right solution.
- Analyse, translate and document Finance requirements into business and functional specifications for IT Development team.
- Identify relevant upstream and downstream dependencies and follow up with stakeholders for input or sign-offs on a timely basis.
- Develop effort estimates for analysis and requirements activities including BRD preparation and Functional Interface specifications.
- Effectively communicate and build rapport with team members and stakeholders across multiple projects and functions, including Finance and Controller teams, and source data providers and consumer IT teams.
- Provide hands-on support during various cycles of testing including Functional Testing, Quality Assurance, Systems Integration Testing, and User Acceptance Testing.
- Contribute to process re-engineering and process improvement as required.
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have:
- Strong Knowledge of Capital Market products, Equities, Derivatives, Options and Fund Wrap Systems, Murex, Interest Rate Swaps, Data Mapping, Amortization Swaps
- Strong Problem Solving and Analytical Skills,
- Strong attention to detail and ability to generate high-quality product (low re-work/errors).
- Strong Data Analysis, Data Manipulation and Data Mapping Skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office tools including Excel, SQL, and Access.
- 3 years’ experience working as a Business Analyst supporting the delivery of Finance or Risk Reporting solutions, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Data Analysis capacity.
- Proficient experience with Software Development LifeCycle process, Agile, Iterative Waterfall and IT terms and methods.
Nice to Have:
- Experience at a large banking or financial services organization
- Financial or Regulatory Reporting experience (from a BA or line perspective).
- Experience working on cross-business and technology data programs
