Summary- The Food Safety and Quality Auditor reports to the Director of Compliance and Food Safety Auditing of NA. The Food Safety and Quality Auditor leads the site effort to develop its HACCP Plan and to develop, implement, and maintain a HACCP/BRCGS system, meets regulatory requirements and compliance to all relevant customer standards for the assigned site. This position will also be responsible for supporting the QA team on all external and internal audits to ensure that we are continuously striving to be audit ready 365. This role will also take on the responsibility of project leads as assigned by the Director of Compliance and Food Safety Auditing of NA as needed to ensure the company food safety and quality program is continuously improved.

- Lead, coach and support the HACCP and food safety teams of the assigned site, to ensure maintenance of the HACCP/BRCGS programs.
- Ensure the assigned facility is following all applicable regulatory requirements (CFIA, Health Canada, USDA, FDA, BRCGS etc.)
- Update SOPs and records as necessary from HACCP system reassessments, program changes, new/modified products, and equipment, etc.
- Responsible for scheduling and leading Food Safety and HACCP meetings and issuing meeting minutes.
- Maintain the HACCP/BRCGS and pre-requisite programs by auditing, monitoring, scheduling, verifying, and validating results.
- Assist QA Lead with annual and new team member training on CCP monitoring and other HACCP SOPs as required.
- Planning, scheduling and executing quarterly internal audits which includes onsite inspection and documents review, report writing and review of CAPA for all the audits of the assigned bakeries and support QA Program lead with external audits (BRCGS, audits requested by customers, CFIA, etc.)
- Ensure timely closure to necessary corrective action items associated with any BRCGS, 3rd party, internal or CFIA audits.
- Keep informed of BRCGS, food safety laws and regulation changes (CFIA, FDA etc).
- Schedule, lead and complete monthly self-inspection. Assist cross functional team with timely closure of the deviations identified.
- Create and maintain an efficient, hygienic, and positive working environment.
- Identifying and evaluating, hazards at all stages of the incoming raw material and food production processes and addressing the hazards in HACCP Plan (Form 5-9).
- This position requires occasional travel to other facilities.
- Review and upload documents in the Black Box for QA, Sanitation and Maintenance and ensure complete and accurate documents are maintained.
- Verifying QA, production, shipping and receiving, sanitation, and maintenance binders on a weekly basis and sending status update to the Director of Compliance and Food Safety Auditing of NA, QA Program lead and QA lead.
- Lead and complete projects related to the continuous improvement of the food safety and quality program of the company, within given timeline.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Director of Compliance and Food Safety Auditing of NA.
- This position requires occasional travel to other facilities.
Required Experience:
- Completion of food science degree or related post-secondary education.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in quality assurance of food production manufacturing.
- Strong experience in developing and maintaining Quality Assurance programs, BRCGS, HACCP, FSMA and SOP’s.
- Training on HACCP and/or BRCGS/SQF with certificate
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Valid Travel document to US and Canada
