This is an opportunity to join RBC’s Sustainability and Impact team as Manager, Reporting and Analytics.
This reporting function supports our increased need to understand the social and business impact of community investments distributed through our signature programs aligned to RBC’s purpose framework. As a key member of this function, this role will drive the measurement, analysis and reporting for RBC’s global community investment portfolio.
What will you do?
Reporting:
- Manage the end-to-end process of the impact measurement process and reporting, working closely with our 3rd party partners as needed to ensure accurate and timely reporting
- Oversee the onboarding process of internal and external stakeholders to our various reporting solutions
- Enhance the reporting capabilities of the team by building new processes for financial reporting & tracking, impact measurement reporting and other ad hoc KPI’s as needed
- Support the external reporting process (e.g. annual disclosures) by providing reporting on key metrics that quantify the impact of RBC’s community investments
Data & Analytics:
- Derive key insights for donation teams as a trusted advisor by transforming data into meaningful and actionable insights
- Partnering with the Senior Manager, Finance Management, provide monthly reporting on Community Investment spend to donation teams and quarterly updates to the RBC Foundation Board
- Act as a key advisor within the team on all things data, from dashboard design & building to optimizing data management practices, controls and architecture
- Other ad hoc requests as needed
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience specializing in Business, Computer Science, Math, Engineering or Statistics
- 2+ years of experience in Data Analysis, Data Engineering or relevant Programming Experience (working with R, Python/Java, SQL, etc)
- 2+ years of experience in project management
- Self-starter who can drive impact, manage numerous initiatives at once, and roll-up sleeves to execute with minimal supervision
- Strategic, critical, and analytical thinker with strong attention to detail.
- Proven relationship-building skills and story-telling skills; leading with impact and influence when engaging senior stakeholders.
- Familiarity and experience leveraging data to create effective reporting and dashboards
Nice-to-have:
- Understanding of concepts and processes related to data management, such as Critical Data Elements (CDEs), data architecture, data models, data lineage, data quality, data dictionary, etc.
- Experience with or knowledge of Agile and Design Thinking Software Development methodologies
- Experience working in a large, matrix organization
- Experience in the charitable sector or working within the Sustainability & Impact team on the corporate side
