Job Type: Full-Time
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Preparation of budgeting and forecasting reports.
- Provide strategic financial analysis and insights to support decision-making, identifying trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure strict compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal financial policies and procedures.
- Oversee and mentor junior accounting staff in the development and maintenance of product cost systems.
- Prepare cost analysis to support pricing strategies and profitability assessment.
- Work closely with the purchasing and operations teams to ensure accurate cost tracking.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with operations teams including chefs and front-of-house personnel to accurately document and manage recipe yields, ensuring alignment with financial objectives.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and financial data.
- Utilize accounting software and other digital tools to streamline data management processes.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of financial databases and systems.
- Perform regular reconciliation of data across Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to ensure consistency and accuracy of financial data.
- Perform monthly reconciliation of bank and credit card accounts.
- Reconcile vendor statements and manage accounts payable/receivable.
- Compare actual financial results with budgeted figures and analyze variances.
- Assist with internal and external audit processes, preparing necessary financial documents and providing supporting documentation as required.
- Identify and implement process improvements in the accounting and financial reporting processes.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and ensure financial transparency.
- Provide Coverage for the Controller and other Departmental staff during vacation periods.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Professional designation (CPA, CGA, CMA)
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in a retail, grocery, & Food processing industries
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- - Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Technological competence, with a solid understanding of accounting and financial software, and the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to adapt to a fast-paced and rapidly growing environment, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
