Toronto Memory Program, a Headlands Research site, is Canada’s largest and most experienced site for drug treatment trials in Alzheimer’s disease and related conditions. Founded in 1996, we have made significant contributions to over 100 drug treatment studies in Alzheimer’s disease.

The Role

Toronto Memory Program is looking for a Medical Receptionist to provide efficient clerical and administrative support in a highly professional and caring mannger.

This Medical Receptionist role will be based in Toronto, ON (North York) and is a full time position.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet clients (i.e. patients, caregivers, visitors) and provide support as required.
  • Answer incoming calls and redirect appropriately. Check and distribute voice mails.
  • Schedule appointments utilizing PS Suite TELUS EMR
  • Complete OHIP billing and assist with resolution of errors and omissions
  • Arrange OTN video call appointments as required
  • Conduct appointment reminder calls as per procedure
  • Ensure patient questionnaires have been received prior to new patient appointments
  • Prepare daily billing sheets for physicians
  • Act as a back-up for other medical receptionists and medical records clerk
  • Obtain patient demographics and verify health card information at each visit
  • Follow meaningful Use guidelines for electronic medical records
  • Scan patient information into EMR
  • Monitor and review physician schedules
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 3 years in a similar role, preferably within the medical field
  • Experience with OHIP submissions
  • Excellent verbal communication, customer service and teamwork skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task with attention to detail
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Previous experience with PS Suite TELUS EMR Scheduling an asset
  • Medical terminology an asset
