Edge Catering is an established, thriving event catering company. Our custom-built facility is in the East Village and features a 5000sq ft. catering kitchen, baking and pastry kitchen, tasting room and offices. Our events team works on site at multiple high end venues and event spaces located throughout Vancouver.
We are looking for an experienced Catering Chef to join our on site events team. This is a fun opportunity to see amazing venues across the city, work unique and exciting events and learn from the best.This is a casual / on call, hands on position and will require the candidate to work on site for events at our partner venues. Onboarding and Training will be provided by our Executive Sous Chef and Chef de Cuisine.
General Responsibilities:
- Arrive on-site prior to guest arrival to set up
- Coordinate with in house team
- Meet on site at the event location
- Unload food and equipment from vans
- Setting up our on site kitchens
- Building and plating canapes on site
- Heating and serving plated, family style, and buffet dinners
- Breaking down events and cleaning the venue, repacking vans
- Adapt to a changing work environment and custom menu items
- Integrate with our team and work environment
- Maintaining sanitary conditions
- Maintaining a professional manner at all times
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years experience of events or catering experience is an asset
- Fine dining or high end event experience is an asset
- Food Safe level 1
- Legal to work in Canada (minimum 2 years on work permit)
- Formal culinary training is an asset
- Vehicle or transportation is an asset but not required

Job Type: CasualPay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour
