You will work directly with leaders who believe in celebrating successes and sharing learnings with other teams to promote progress The RBC team in Toronto is seeking to hire Senior Quality Engineering role for its Audit IT team. This role will require you to be in the Greater Toronto region and be able to commute to the office as you will be required to work at least 3 days per week in the office, as indicated by your manager.
You will be responsible for effective planning, hands on test execution and tracking testing initiatives for Audit application(s). Your objective is to ensure the QE processes are well defined, executed and continually monitored. Working with different project teams to ensure functional/regression test suite is up to date and remains relevant.
You will be accountable for driving quality and champion defect prevention/early defect detection via manual and test automation and maximizing test coverage. The goal always will be to ensure we automate as much as possible across audit modules within the application.
Job Description WHAT WILL YOU DO? Support the implementation of the QE Program and overall QE process and standards through continuous test preparation and execution, leveraging an engineering mindset created by practicing deep, technical and domain expertise.
Automate assigned areas/features using the existing Framework and provide the test estimations, build automation scripts using Python. Responsible for overall quality of testing deliverables/activities. Support the implementation of the QE Program and overall QE process and standards through continuous test execution and reporting.
Leverages the existing automation frameworks, tools, and artefacts to ensure the testing process is continuous, comprehensive, and fully autonomous. Hands-on experience in Python, SQL, ETL and integration test automation. Closely work with the Application Development team as one team to integrate quality engineering mindset/concepts within the DevOps framework/pipeline.
Work with Sr. QE lead/ Manager across multiple applications to identify E2E changes to drive QE strategies during testing. Responsible for technical coaching, mentoring, training, and day-to-day interaction with a team of QE practitioners, and developers and driving test case for projects/programs.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED? Must have: Minimum 5+ years of experience in a QE/ Agile environment with a focus on technical, automated testing in a variety of environments (cloud, business workflows and services/APIs, databases). Minimum 2 years of test development experience working on the latest technologies and frameworks.
Experience in a variety of test automation frameworks/tools (e.g. Robot Framework, SoapUI or ReadyAPI, Postman, Selenium) and script development using scripting languages (e.g. Python, NumPy) Strong SQL skills and ability to create Data driven test frameworks to test ETL applications.
Hands-on experience in creating and executing API based Test Frameworks and automation test integration with Dev Ops framework/ pipeline (e.g. GITHub actions/Azure) Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related (technical) degree/diploma Nice-to-have: Computer Engineering, Computer Science degree/diploma, or equivalent experience Experience in performance testing, accessibility testing and mobile testing.
Strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills to work across functions and businesses. QA-related certification. (e.g. CSTE, CSQA, ISTQB) Whats in it for you?
