We’re looking for a passionate and creative individual who will work as part of a dynamic team to maximize the Harlequin brand in the digital space. You will ensure visibility of Harlequin’s extensive backlist and play creatively with backlist titles to meet emerging opportunities, so Harlequin remains a top of mind brand for romance readers.In this role, you will continually challenge existing programs, scan the external environment for opportunities and assist in the development of new initiatives and product tests based on competitive analysis, sales/trend analysis, consumer insights and cultural trends.
You have a collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit with strong organizational skills, meeting deadlines and have a strong ability to share information with cross-functional teams to achieve shared project goals. You have a passion to understand the digital audience and trends with a creative, entrepreneurial spirit to position the Harlequin brand catalogue strongly in the competitive space to support the overarching brand business goals, drive brand awareness, equity and sales in North America.
Responsibilities:
- Program Management
- In collaboration with key stakeholders, you will ensure balanced publishing schedules, lead execution, communication, budget tracking, sales analysis and results for backlist activations to maximize marketplace opportunities.
- Packaging Development
- Lead packaging development process for the digital reissue program with key stakeholders to ensure titles are competitively packaged to support author/brand strategies and meet market opportunities and reader preferences, while ensuring production deadlines are met.
- Product Marketing
- In collaboration with the publishing teams, manager and analysis team, manage promotional nominations with key stakeholders, lead active communication with brand marketing, PR and sales groups to support promotion for all DI opportunities across Harlequin brand marketing initiatives.
- Digital Market Consultant
- - Act as a consultant to the publishing teams for opportunities to maximize brand publishing programs in the digital space. This includes metadata, repositioning, promotions and pricing. Provide best practices, results and recommendations. Participate in the development of BL metadata optimization projects and lead execution with assistance from the marketing coordinator including communication across wider brand teams.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of related experience working in a product management/marketing capacity
- Post-secondary degree in Business/Marketing is as asset
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Analytical thinker, with the ability to craft a story from data insights.
- Creative and innovative thinker who isn’t afraid to challenge the existing environment and possesses a strong drive for results and excellent communication skills
- Team player who can take initiative and effectively guide cross-functional teams.
- Effectively balances multiple priorities/deadlines with project management skills being an asset.
- Drive to be on top of emerging content and market trends, and competitive activities
- Ability to influence without the power of hierarchy and nurture professional relationships
- Strong people management skills with the ability to coach, provide feedback and grow talent
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
