We are hiring at ValPay and are looking to appoint a Junior Financial Accountant to join our finance team in Montreal!
ValPay is scaling rapidly, and we’re looking for a detail-oriented and driven Junior Financial Accountant to support our finance operations. Ideal for someone early in their career who wants to grow in a fast-paced, operationally-focused environment.

The successful candidate will be based anywhere within commutable distance of our office in Montreal, Saint-Laurent, working in an in-office work model!
What your day will look like:
- Assist with day-to-day accounting functions (A/P, A/R, bank reconciliations)
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger
- Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Support audits and financial reporting
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Experience in SaaS, tech, or high-growth environments is highly advantageous
- Exposure to ERP systems or automation tools is highly advantageous
About You:
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is essential
- 1–2 years of financial accounting experience or a relevant internship is essential
- Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP, IFRS)
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite)
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
- The ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- A roll-up-the-sleeves attitude towards problem-solving
- Coachable, eager and willing to learn
- Flexible and able to adapt to change
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal, is essential
- Legally authorized to work in Canada is essential
