We are currently seeking an experienced writer to join our Marketing and Communications team as Writer, Corporate Communications. This is a full-time, hybrid role out of our North York office that reports to our Director of Marketing and Communications.

Responsibilities:

As Writer, Corporate Communications you will be responsible for:

  • writing clear, engaging, and strategic content across a variety of internal and external platforms, including but not limited to the company intranet, website, press releases, marketing materials, event materials, award submissions and social media accounts
  • editing, adapting, and proofreading marketing materials and internal communications for grammar, clarity, tone, and effectiveness
  • sourcing and developing content from across the organization, including project, client and community impact stories
  • researching and investigating industry trends and company initiatives to create relevant content tailored to various audiences

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate is a skilled communicator and natural storyteller who:

  • has 3 - 5 years of relevant experience
  • has a degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Public Relations or a related field
  • has excellent writing, editing, proofreading, research, and interview skills
  • can develop effective communications for different audiences and platforms
  • has outstanding editorial instincts and can simplify and frame a story to influence, engage, and inform
  • is highly organized with excellent project and time management skills
  • has an understanding, background, or interest in engineering, planning or environmental science
