Survey Technician

Maple Reinders Constructors is currently looking to add an in-house Survey Technician to our team in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The position of Survey Technician is to provide support to the Project Teams for the successful planning and execution of construction projects. As a Survey Technician, you will be using surveying equipment and software to accurately help Project Teams with site work during the construction process.

In doing so, you will be involved in:

  • Maintaining a high level of competency of surveying through continued use and training
  • Troubleshooting software issues as required
  • Staying informed on best of software and technologies
  • Conducting continuing education on surveying/layout processes and its new technologies
  • Liaising with Project Teams and Clients
  • Providing accurate and timely data to the Project Teams
  • Interpreting and transferring points from construction drawings for layout purposes
  • Working off GPS set ups and third-party control networks
  • Performing in field layout and calculations for topographical/building surveys

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Technical diploma in an appropriate field
  • Two or more years of building/civil/land surveying experience
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, read blueprints, schematics, field drawings and plans
  • Valid class 5 driver license
  • Experience with Total Stations and GNSS equipment (extensive knowledge of Trimble equipment and software is an asset)
  • Understanding of construction techniques
  • Knowledge of local, provincial, and federal workplace compliance regulations, ordinances, and legislation
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Bluebeam
  • Physically fit and capable of working outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Ability to communicate and desire to learn

Salary Range: $65,000/Year - $75,000/Year (Depending on experience)
