  • Time Number of Positions: 2 Closing Date: 03/31/2025 Job Summary Our team is actively seeking dynamic cooking instructors for our City camps and/or programs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the instruction of a comprehensive Culinary Arts Camp and/or programs as outlined by the recreation Division to meet the needs of participants and to ensure adequate safety while facilitating the activity.

Duties and Responsibilities Instruct and supervise comprehensive Culinary Arts Camp and/or program as developed by Recreation Division to meet the needs of all participants in the camp/program(s).
Prepare specified lesson plans for classes in advance including arriving 15 minutes prior to class to set up and organize.
Evaluate and monitor campers/students progress.
Address questions/concerns from participants and parents.
Policy and procedure adherence and provide quality customer service and information to participants and other staff.
Advise program supervisor of any difficulties with participant regarding behaviour, registration, class lists, program content or any other related issues Perform administrative program functions pertaining to the operation of the classes Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications Minimum 15 years of age by the start of the Camps employment session (June 1st, 2025) By June 1, 2025 successful candidates must provide (at their own expense):

**These are required to work but not to apply!** Emergency or Standard First Aid with CPR B or C certification (must be recognized by WSIB) which must remain current during employment period. HIGH FIVE ® Principles of Healthy Child Development certification.

Food Handler Certification Level 3
  • Vulnerable Sector Check to verify the absence of a criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted.

This is a condition of employment.

Education/Training in Culinary Arts is an asset.
Knowledge of and experience in teaching and working with children/youth is an asset.

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Note: Hours are not guaranteed.
Hours are dependent on sufficient program registration.

  • Arts Cooking Camps position requires the successful candidate to work half days in a cooking camps position and half day in a camp counsellor position.
