Responsibilities:
THE ROLE:
The AMD Software Infrastructure Department is seeking a new team member to help implement business solutions based on the Atlassian Jira platform. The ideal candidate should have experience in creating robust production applications and developing prototypes quickly.While previous practical experience in enterprise application development is an asset, it is not a requirement for candidates with the right technical skills and adaptability. As a member of the development team, the candidate will be involved in requirements analysis, design, planning, and the implementation of solutions based on Jira.
They will collaborate closely with other developers and application experts. The candidate must also be prepared to support existing code and contribute to the development of new solutions and approaches.
THE PERSON:
The ideal candidate should be passionate about problem-solving, think creatively, and quickly prototype solutions for Jira Cloud. They should be able to scale these solutions to production-grade standards and deploy them for use by all Jira Cloud users.Additionally, the candidate must be able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with different teams across AMD.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understand existing solutions within AMD's Jira deployment.
- Gather and process user requirements to create integrated solutions in the cloud.
- Apply a data-driven approach to optimize solutions.
- Implement prototypes for quick user feedback.
- Scale accepted solutions in the cloud.
- Support users during transition periods.
- Ensure seamless data flow between systems for automation and reporting.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in developing web applications, preferably with modern web frameworks such as Angular or React.
- Experience interfacing with relational databases, with MS-SQL preferred (e.g., T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS).
- Experience with C#/.NET Core, object-oriented development, Java, and Groovy.
- Experience with service-oriented architecture, including web services, messaging, REST, JSON, HTTP, and TCP.
- Experience with multi-threaded programming and design patterns.
- Experience with reporting or analytics tools, such as Power BI.
- Proven interpersonal skills, technical excellence, and ability to work effectively in teams.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
