Summary:

This position is critical for our Supplier Approval Program Monitoring by providing incoming ingredients inspection and food safety assessment. Through this activity, we ensure that our Food Safety Standard, verified through the BRCGS annual audit, is carried as intended by achieving the highest rating and most importantly providing consistent food safety products to our customers and consumers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review and manage specifications to understand the quality expectations for inspection of the incoming ingredients and if needed, packaging materials
  • Inspection of incoming ingredients to ensure compliance with quality and food safety standards, according to the procedure
  • Review and manage electronic copies of COAs and match them with deliveries, for accurate traceability
  • Ensure compliance and implementation of corporate food safety programs
  • Manage hold of ingredients not meeting food safety and quality standards using SAP systems
  • Complete non-conformance reports (NCRs) for any out of compliance situations and coordinate with stakeholders and suppliers for corrective and preventive actions
  • Conducts trailer and pallet inspections of upon receiving according to the checklist
  • Accountable for preparation and participation in all internal/ third party BRCGS/ CFIA audits
  • Complete any other quality and food safety related tasks as assigned
  • Responsible to control any non-conforming product, raw materials, packaging material that does not meet customer/internal specifications, regulatory requirements by placing it on hold physically and in SAP system
  • Verify receiving /shipping procedure and certificate of analysis to ensure raw material, packaging components are meeting specification and Wonderbrands standards
  • Effectively communicate and Document all QA activities accurately and in timely manner and reports to QA Lead
  • Perform the incoming raw materials analysis by collecting the sample
  • Perform in house analysis of the raw materials where applicable
  • Perform other duties as assigned

About You:

  • Post-secondary education in a food safety/ microbiology/quality related program
  • Experience in quality control food manufacturing is an asset
  • Proven proficiency with Microsoft Excel and database management, preferably trace gains
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written in English
  • Ability to collaborate with other stakeholders from Corporate WB QA, and Warehouse team members
  • Flexible and willing to work overtime if required
  • Positive attitude and a results-oriented mindset
  • Bright, driven and clear about your future career goals
  • Roll up your sleeves mentality with a whatever it takes mindset to get the job done
