Senior Forestry Account Executive

The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $150,000. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity.

What the day will look like

Distinctive Client Value
  • Develop and maintain specific knowledge of our Forestry client’s operations and risk exposures.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of the broader forest products industry, particularly the risk exposures faced by the industry.
  • Identify specific client and prospect needs and develop innovative and cost-effective solutions.
  • Stewardship and servicing of existing client programs, defining risk exposures and providing expert advice on policy coverage and risk mitigation, while cultivating client relationships to increase penetration sales and cultivate new business opportunities.
  • Coordinating the 120-day Renewal Process including preparing the renewal report, presenting to client for approval, acquiring the binding order, and reviewing policy documentation and delivering to client in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining a thorough understanding and knowledge of all available Aon resources in order to deliver the best of Aon to our clients.
  • Ensuring expected standards of service are delivered to our clients, Resolving client issues and concerns in partnership with the service team.
  • Analyzing clients' contracts, identifying potential issues that could be of concern with respect to indemnities and insurance requirements.
  • Participate in management and advocacy of large claims handling.
  • Receiving policy contracts from Broking Team, ensuring apparent client needs have been met to favorable standards.
  • Developing new client contacts and advancing relationships with Forestry prospects.
  • Producing new business and assisting in the development of sales and marketing strategies designed to cultivate revenue generation opportunities.
  • Developing comprehensive annual and quarterly new business sales and development plans for identified targeted prospects and existing clients.
  • Providing the leadership necessary for development and delivery of insurance and industry related presentations / seminars prospects and clients as required.
Operational Excellence
  • Introducing the service team to clients as their day-to-day point of contact for ongoing service needs and ensuring smooth communication and coordination with the client.
  • In conjunction with the service team, establish client service plans.
  • Assume accountability for the day-to-day service quality provided to the client.
Talent Management
  • Coordinating the efforts of technical and support staff to service clients efficiently.
  • Ongoing mentorship of junior staff.

How this opportunity is different

This role will provide the opportunity for our colleague to act as the face of Aon to the clients/prospects in the Forestry community, working to steward and build upon an established book of multinational Forestry accounts. The successful candidate will work across segment lines and geographies to deliver the best of Aon to this multinational practice.

They will also be tasked with projects such as providing the leadership for development and delivery of insurance and industry related presentations/seminars prospects and clients as required.

Skills and experience that will lead to success
  • Minimum 10 years of commercial insurance experience
  • Level 2 insurance license (BC) required or working towards
  • CIP, FCIP and CRM is preferable, completed or working towards
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development including insurance courses, certifications and similar
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organization skills and the ability to prioritize concurrent deliverables
