Senior R&D Engineer

Overview:
PDF Solutions Inc. (NASDAQ: PDFS) is seeking a Senior R&D Engineer to join the R&D team to develop a cutting-edge electron beam inspection tool (eProbe®). These tools are based on high-speed Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEM) and are used at semiconductor fabs for yield ramp and manufacturing control.This is a core part of PDF’s Design-for-Inspection™ (DFI) methodology.
The candidate should be self-motivated and comfortable in a multidisciplinary environment. He or she should have strong analytical skills and a systematic approach to solving problems. The main goal is to develop novel approaches for inspecting the next generation of semiconductor wafers, which often introduce new and unique technical challenges.The candidate should identify potential improvements in the existing inspection flow, including improvements to current software, as well as developing new software algorithms or solutions to address common issues or inefficiencies in a production environment.
He or she should also coordinate with engineers in the field to understand and resolve complex, time-critical issues.

Responsibilities:
- Work independently to solve problems and find innovative solutions
- Provide field support to troubleshoot and resolve time-critical inspection and applications issues
- Design and perform experiments, analyze data and present results
- Write prototypes to demonstrate newly developed algorithms
- Lead projects from start to finish. From identifying a problem or suggesting a new method to prove of concept and final implementation.
- Coordinate and work with software, application, manufacturing, engineering and outside consultants
Qualifications:
- Masters (PhD preferred) in Physics, Electrical Engineering or related fields
- Experience in data collection and data analysis
Plus:
- Knowledge base or experience with hardware engineering (motion, light optics, e-beam optics, ultra-high vacuum, analog power supplies, High Voltage power supplies)
- Basic experience with LabVIEW
- Coding experience e.g. Python, C, or C++
- Experience in Data Analysis and visualization packages (JUMP, SPLUS, Spotfire)
- Knowledge base or experience in semiconductor manufacturing or electron microscopes
Pay Range: CAD $130,000.00 - CAD $150,000.00 /Yr.
