Toronto - Senior Manager, Human Resources (14-month contract)
With three furniture manufacturing facilities located in Etobicoke, Brampton and Georgetown, the Senior Manager, HR will play a critical role in shaping the culture and ensuring the development of our most valuable asset – our people.
THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Senior Manager, HR provides HR consultation and integrated solutions to leaders and Team Members, as well as deploying HR strategies that align with the business needs. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources departments for a group of companies including, employee/labour relations, recruitment and onboarding, health and safety and training and development.This is a 14-month contract position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides HR consultation, coaching and integrated solutions to leaders, and handles all escalated employee relations issues.
- Partner with senior leadership to align human capital strategies with organizational goals.
- Plan human resources requirements in conjunction with other departmental managers.
- Oversee the design and implementation of competitive compensation and benefits programs. Regularly assess market trends to ensure compensation structures remain competitive.
- Work with the health and safety team to lead health and safety initiatives across the group of companies.
- Develop performance goals, metrics, and targets that are consistent with annual Business Plans.
- Manage the business planning process for the group of companies. Ensure Managers are on-track to achieving their goals and objectives in alignment with the business plan.
- Develop and execute HR strategies to support business objectives and growth.
- Steward the Performance Management Process
- Lead and enhance learning and development initiatives to foster continuous growth and skill development across all levels of the organization. Develop and deploy training sessions that are based on regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Assist the team with conducting workplace investigations and resolve any conflicts that arise among staff as required.
- Ensure that all employees comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
- Maintains compliance with employment legislation
- Maintain accurate records and compile statistical reports relating to personnel data, e.g. hires, transfers, absenteeism rates, and performance appraisals.
- All other duties as required.
Requirements
BRC Group is seeking passionate candidates who possess the following experience and competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Progressive experience in Human Resources, with at least 2 years in a management or leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to drive HR strategy and influence at senior leadership levels.
- Excellent computer skills.
