Talent Acquisition Specialist (8-Month Contract)

Location: Brampton (Initial Training) and Newmarket (Head Office), with Hybrid Model After 3 Months.

One of our clients in the non-profit and healthcare sector is seeking a dynamic Talent Acquisition Specialist/Recruiter to join their team on an 8-month contract, with the potential for extension. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment that values empathy, teamwork, and flexibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment Focus (70%):
  • Source and recruit candidates using various outlets, develop a strong talent pipeline, and tap into passive candidate networks.
  • Review and approve job postings, coordinate interviews, update interview questions, and conduct interviews.
  • Complete employment reference checks and present offer letters.
  • Provide ongoing support to hiring managers across the full recruitment cycle, from screening to hiring decisions.
  • Score candidates, complete interview ratings, and make informed recommendations on hiring decisions.
  • Notify candidates of competition outcomes in a timely manner and ensure internal candidates receive feedback.
  • HR Administrative Support (30%):
  • Respond to employee and management inquiries regarding recruitment policies and procedures.
  • Maintain internal tracking spreadsheets of vacancies across various regions and provide regular updates to HR Managers.
  • Collect interview notes and maintain competition files for HR records.
  • Run employment reports and streamline administrative processes to improve efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in talent acquisition, preferably in healthcare, non-profit, or social services sectors.
  • Strong background in HR administration and reporting, including proficiency in MS Office and ADP.
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and HR systems for updating records and tracking recruitment activities.
  • Highly organized, resourceful, and able to manage a high volume of work while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to establish strong relationships with internal clients and hiring managers.
  • A collaborative team player who thrives in environments with open communication, empathy, and accountability.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and demonstrate responsiveness in fast-paced, undefined structures.

Work Model:

  • Onsite for the first 3 months for training and collaboration.
  • After proving independence and confidence in the role, the position will shift to a hybrid work model.
  • Training in Brampton and access to Newmarket (head office) required as the Brampton office will close soon.
