Sr. Oracle and MS SQL Server Database Administrator to perform admin, scripting, automation, and operations support for our public sector client Location: Vaughan (Hybrid) Duration: 2-year contract Hours per day: 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM ET Tech Stack: OS: Windows 2016, 2019, 2022, 2025, Oracle Linux 8+ Oracle Databases: Oracle 12 platform and newer Oracle Database Appliance (ODA) v19.13 Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC) Microsoft SQL Server Databases: SQL Server 2016 and newer Responsibilities: Providing Oracle and MS SQL Server database administration, availability, scripting, automation, and operations support Install and configure Oracle and MS SQL Database services and/or related-software Install and configure Oracle Database Appliance (ODA) and related hardware Install, configure, manage, and upgrade ODA Virtualized Platform Install, configure, manage and upgrade Oracle Enterprise Manager Install required patches on ODA Linux system administration and scripting Install and configure MS SWL Always-On availability groups, Always-On failover cluster, and/or Database mirroring.
Install and configure Oracle Active Data Guard, Data Guard, Real Application Cluster (RAC), Recovery Manager (RMAN) Perform database backups, restores, and recovery on both Oracle and MS SQL Databases Execute database tuning and optimization: memory, performance, storage management Develop and implement security procedures for databases, including access and user account management Perform Oracle and MS SQL Server upgrades and apply patches Execute database and application upgrades Creation of development, staging, and production environments for new applications Analyze Oracle and MS SQL Server performance and recommend improvements Apply problem solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems Allocate database storage and develop plans for future storage requirements Check latest patches for databases and recommend patch installation and testing on Development Environments Must have skills: Have 7+ years of experience in the role of Oracle Database Administrator, MS SQL Database Administrator or equivalent (to be validated via resume) Certified as a Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) in SQL version 2014 Database Admin (or newer), or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) in Data Management and Analytics, or Azure Data Engineer Associate , or equivalent (to be validated via certificates provided) Certified as an Oracle Database Administrator Certified Professional in version 12c (or newer), or equivalent (to be validated via certificates provided).Have a Computer Science Degree/Diploma or equivalent (to be validated via degree, diploma, or certificates provided) Apply
