Duties and Responsibilities Provides up to date information on Community Centre and City wide services and programs both over the phone and in person at the Community Centre desk, in a professional and friendly manner to all customers. Contacts customers to inform of cancelled programs or classes.
Registers customers into Recreation programs using the Recreation Registration Management System. Processes transfer and withdrawal requests for Recreation programs/memberships. Sells Recreation memberships to customers for swimming, skating, fitness and therapy.
Collection of customer participation stats into Aquatic and Fitness programs. Sells customers pay-as-you-go admissions to public swim and skates, preschool, sports and fitness and therapy drop-in programs. Ensures maximums/capacity of programs is maintained through sales of tickets.
Follow and adhere to all Divisional Cash Handling policies/procedures, including building-site specific procedures and inventory control. Responsible for the preparation of the end of shift/day Daily Sales Reports. Prepares floats and cash for deposits. Sells customers Presto, transit tickets/passes, garbage bag tags, and sundry items such as manuals.
Skills and Qualifications Secondary School Graduation Diploma or equivalent. The successful candidate should poses good interpersonal and communication skills for working in a multi-tasking customer service environment. Computer experience in Word, Excel and ActiveNET software, along with experiences in cash handling and balancing are deemed an asset.
Current Emergency First Aid / CPR "B" required within 6 months of start date. Primarily community centre environment.
