Responsibilities:
Business Origination and Proposals- Work within our Real Estate & Infrastructure Consulting team and other partners to develop new client relationships and business to advance the business and platform.
- Develop marketing and proposal content, respond to formal Request for Proposal (RFP) opportunities, prepare market materials including POVs, and engage across Avison Young.
- Attend industry events, review public sector and industry RFPs to identify opportunities for the team and Avison Young to deliver Consulting and technical services.
- Lead technical proposal and RFP submissions under the leadership of our Consulting team and other Avison Young leaders and teams.
- Deliver real estate and infrastructure consulting services to a wide range of clients across Canada and North America together with our highly talented team.
- Contribute to work across multi-disciplinary teams and lead aspects of various projects, including coordination with other Avison Young service lines, consultants and contractors to meet deadlines and deliverables.
- Work directly with clients to develop and implement comprehensive assignments, strategies and solutions, including client engagement, marketplace research, financial and performance analytics, decision-making processes and key outcomes to align with the client’s business strategies. Projects will be delivered successfully on time and within budget.
- Advance our client deliverables that span the full spectrum of technical requirements, including analyzing business plans and developing business cases to meet client needs, conducting options analysis to support business and investment decisions, evaluating market and financial feasibility for a realm of requirements and preparing strategic plans / growth planning for capital projects, developing and assessing complex transaction models for a variety of structures (e.g. Joint Ventures, PPPs, etc.), amongst other client requirements to be identified.
- Demonstrate knowledge of experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods, scenario modelling, market feasibility, financial analysis, and strategic consulting practices to deliver “best in class” solutions for our clients.
- Gather and evaluate economic, demographic, and real estate market data for input into project-specific deliverables.
- Produce financial models of varying complexity, including (but not limited to) detailed cash-flow / pro-forma projections and residual valuations and development models.
- Prepare drafts of reports and presentations for client meetings and clearly communicate complex analyses.
- Manage and execute multiple assignments with an exceptional standard of performance.
- Occasional travel may be required as needed to support business objectives.
- Any other duties assigned periodically.
Qualifications:
- Preferably, 3+ years of related work experience in a Real Estate & Infrastructure environment
- Undergraduate degree (preferably with a focus on business / commerce, real estate and / or finance)
- Willingness to work towards an AACI, PMP or other relevant designations.
- An understanding of the commercial real estate industry in Canada.
- Understanding of key real estate value drivers, risks and opportunities.
- Strong project management skills.
- Strong computer and financial modeling skills
- Ability to systematically manage multiple projects and meet stringent deadlines
- Solid technology skills with robust capabilities in MS PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Knowledge or interest in real estate processes, operations, and/or asset management
- Keen interest in working with both public and private sector clients
