Job Summary:

The Specialist, Enterprise Platforms - Operations (AMOS) plays a pivotal role within the IT Systems and Delivery team, focusing on the comprehensive management and optimization of AMOS—Porter's Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) system.

This position ensures seamless integration, performance, and alignment of AMOS with Porter's operational objectives. While the initial emphasis is on AMOS, the role is designed to expand, encompassing additional enterprise systems as the organization's technological landscape evolves.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Product Expertise
  • System Management: Oversee the configuration, customization, and maintenance of AMOS, ensuring optimal performance and alignment with operational requirements.
  • Technical Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of AMOS configurations and any future systems, ensuring accurate records of system setups and modifications.
  • Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with AMOS and other vendors to acquire in-depth knowledge of operational systems, ensuring proper system setup, configuration, and performance.
  1. Liaison with Business, IT, and Other Stakeholders
  • Primary Liaison: Act as the main interface between IT and Operations to define, document, and prioritize system requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with IT teams across various departments—including Operations, Finance, Infrastructure, and Cybersecurity—to ensure seamless integration and alignment of technology solutions that support business goals.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate effective communication among internal teams and external partners, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout project lifecycles.
  1. Operational Improvements and Stability
  • Process Analysis and Improvement: Proactively analyze processes, logs, and other system monitoring tools to identify areas for improvement, implementing technology-driven solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Integration Enhancement: Lead initiatives to improve the interconnectivity of AMOS with key airline and corporate systems, ensuring operational continuity and efficiency.
  • System Monitoring: Establish and maintain monitoring protocols to ensure system stability, promptly addressing any issues that arise.
  1. Delivering New Capability
  • System Deployment Participation: Engage in all phases of system deployment, including requirements gathering, solution design, documentation, testing, and user training, to ensure successful implementation and adoption.
  • Project Management: Collaborate with IT team leads to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet established quality standards.
  • Business Needs Translation: Convert business requirements into detailed technical specifications, working with IT teams and partners to deliver, configure, customize, operate, and maintain technology solutions.
  1. External Trends Monitoring
  • Competitive Analysis: Continuously monitor industry trends and competitor practices to identify opportunities for Porter and its systems.
  • Innovation and Evolution: Contribute to the advancement of IT platform capabilities by evaluating emerging technologies and recommending innovations that drive efficiency and competitive advantage.
  1. Safety and Compliance
  • Safety Management Participation: Actively engage in Porter's Safety Management System (SMS), including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply with, and promote the Company Safety Policy.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all systems and processes adhere to industry regulations and standards, implementing necessary measures to maintain compliance.
  1. Additional Duties
  • Other Responsibilities: Perform other tasks as assigned by the Managing Director, IT Systems and Delivery, adapting to evolving business needs and priorities.

Qualifications:

  • Experience (3+ years) using, implementing, supporting and enhancing an Operations software suite, in an airline or similar organization, and its different functions
  • Extensive experience with airline enterprise systems and tools such as AMOS from SwissAS, NavBlue NFP and an understanding of their integration with scheduling, crew management, revenue, and finance applications
  • Airline or Aviation experience is considered an asset
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, science or related field
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with multiple deadlines
  • Ability to communicate clearly with business users, flight and airport operations staff, and project management
  • Ability to innovate and provide functional applications with intuitive interfaces
  • Ability to construct user guides and documentation
  • Ability to partner to deliver complex technology projects, specifically with integrations, complex architecture, and data changes
  • Proven interest and comfort working on technology initiatives
  • Listens to others and is open to input from team members
  • Clearly articulate ideas and thoughts verbally
  • Accurately prepares well written business correspondence that is effective and professional
  • Proposes solutions to problems and considers timeliness, effectiveness, and practicality in addressing client needs
  • Experience with office productivity tools, such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • Excellent organizational skills & attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment and accept direction
