- Receive, inspect, and store incoming supplies and equipment. Ensure proper labeling and organization of items.
- Issue supplies and equipment to internal departments as requested. Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of requests.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management software.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to reorder supplies when necessary.
- Oversee the physical layout and organization of the tool crib.
- Process requests for supplies, tooling, and equipment from internal departments. Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of these requests, coordinating the delivery or pickup as required.
- Conduct regular stock audits to ensure accuracy of inventory records and identify any discrepancies.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal departments, addressing any inquiries or issues related to supplies, tooling, and equipment.
- Identify opportunities to improve inventory management processes and systems.
- Ensure all stored items are handled and stored according to safety regulations and company policies.
- Implement new procedures or technologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy in managing central stores operations.
- Manage the procurement process for tools and ensure they are available and maintained for team use. Track the loaning and return of tools to maintain accountability and ensure tools are in good working condition.
- Responsible for the maintenance and repair of tools and small equipment (welders, power tools, etc.).
- Always conduct oneself in a professional manner in alignment with Company values, including but not limited to language use, attire, and workmanship
- In accordance with Company policy and relevant employment legislation, overtime and work outside of regular hours, and being on call may be required at the discretion of the Company
- All other duties as required
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS- High school diploma or equivalent. Additional training in inventory management or logistics is a plus.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, storeroom, or inventory management role preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in inventory records and distribution.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have a valid G driver’s license and clean abstract to be eligible for coverage under the Company’s vehicle insurance policy.
- Knowledge of construction tools and equipment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, twist, kneel and reach overhead
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to consistently work safely and maintain a safe work environment
- Computer literate with the ability to use Microsoft office, including Outlook, Word and Excel
- Able to adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditions, effectively cope with complexity and change, and quickly understand and absorb new information
- Forklift truck and material handling experience an asset
- Safety first mindset.
