Controller - Robert Half

Location: Onsite – 5 Days a Week (Guelph Location)

Summary: Our client is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee and lead its accounting and financial functions. This position will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of financial operations, reporting, and compliance while contributing to strategic initiatives in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger processes.
• Prepare comprehensive monthly financial reporting packages, including profit and loss statements, variance analyses, KPIs, scorecards, and value-creation metrics.
• Lead and execute month-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate preliminary and final reporting.
• Collaborate with external auditors and stakeholders to ensure compliance with US GAAP standards and other financial regulations.
• Track and analyze gross margin performance, offering actionable insights to improve decision-making.
• Oversee reconciling of general ledger accounts, balance sheet items, tax filings (e.g., HST), and other regulatory tasks.
• Create and deliver executive-level management presentations, such as financial performance reports and scorecards, utilizing advanced tools like Excel and PowerPoint.
• Provide analytical and reporting support to other departments, proactively addressing challenges and improving processes.
