D-365 Solution Architect - London

Solution Architect will be responsible to lead the design, development, and implementation of end-to-end Dynamics 365 solutions for Dynamics 365 F&O, Purchasing, SCM, MML modules. You will be responsible for crafting scalable, secure, and efficient solutions across various business domains (Finance, Accounting, Procurement, Supply chain, HR), aligning with enterprise architecture and digital transformation goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the architectural design and integration strategy for Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Finance & Operations, Purchasing, SCM, MML modules)
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Provide strategic guidance on Dynamics 365 capabilities, limitations, and integration with other systems (e.g., Power Platform, Azure, third-party tools).
  • Design and document high-level and detailed solution architecture including data models, workflows, customizations, and integrations.
  • Guide and mentor development teams through technical challenges and best practices.
  • Support pre-sales activities, solution demonstrations, and RFP responses (if applicable).
  • Ensure the implementation follows Microsoft’s best practices, compliance, and security standards.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and coordinate with cross-functional teams.

Successful Candidate to demonstrate applied experience across the following areas:

  • Solution Design and Implementation:
  • Lead the functional design of Dynamics 365 F&O, Purchasing & SCM, MML solutions by gathering business requirements, mapping them to standard or custom Dynamics 365 functionality, and configuring the system to meet those requirements.
  • Design and implement end-to-end business solutions across core functional areas such as finance, manufacturing, supply chain, retail, and human resources.
  • Develop and document functional specifications for system customizations, integrations, and workflows.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to translate business needs into detailed functional and technical requirements.

System Configuration and Customization:

  • Oversee the configuration of Microsoft Dynamics 365 &O, Purchasing & SCM, MML, ensuring that the system meets business requirements.
  • Design and implement complex business processes within the D365 F&O system, including financial management, inventory, order processing, supply chain management.
  • Recommend and implement best practices for system configuration, ensuring seamless integration with other enterprise systems.

Data Management and Integration:

  • Guide data migration efforts from legacy systems to Dynamics 365 F&O, Purchasing & SCM, MML, ensuring the accurate transfer of business data.
  • Work with integration teams to ensure seamless data flow between Dynamics 365 and other systems (e.g., CRM, third-party applications, ERP).

Testing and Quality Assurance:

  • Work closely with the testing team to ensure that any issues are resolved, and the system is stable and functional before go-live.

Continuous Improvement and Innovation:

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest releases, features, and updates to Dynamics 365 &O, Purchasing & SCM, MML and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize and automate business processes through new features, integrations, and best practices in Dynamics 365 F&O, Purchasing & SCM, MML
  • Work with business stakeholders to identify and implement system improvements, optimizations, and enhancements post-go-live.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:

  • Work closely with business stakeholders (finance, operations, and IT) to understand their needs and define how Dynamics 365 F&O, Purchasing & SCM, MML can be configured to improve business processes.
  • Serve as the primary functional point of contact for Dynamics 365 F&O, Purchasing & SCM, MML during project execution, providing expertise and leadership to stakeholders.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings with business users to ensure system functionality aligns with business processes and requirements.

Vendor and Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate with finance and accounting, HR and Payroll, Purchasing & Supply Chain departments and other key stakeholders to ensure smooth end-to-end process execution
  • Resolve any issues related to Record-to-report, Service-to-Cash, Transactional Finance in coordination with relevant teams
  • Act as a liaison between business users and the technical teams for system-related queries

Mentorship & Leadership:

  • Mentor junior consultants and other team members.
  • Provide guidance and support in their professional development.
  • Lead by example, promoting best practices within the team.

Skills & Qualifications

Required:

  • Experience: Minimum of 7- 9 years of prior D-365 F&O, Purchasing & SCM, MML modules with hand-on project delivery experience as functional consultant in client facing capacity
  • Functional Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Record-to-report, Service-to-Cash, Transactional Finance value streams and associated functional requirements to configure D-365 F&O, Purchasing & SCM, MML modules
  • System Expertise: Experience in configuring and using F&O, Purchasing & SCM, MML modules of D-365 software
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple workstreams and collaborate across different functional and technical teams to implement or improve F&O, Purchasing & SCM, MML solutions
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify inefficiencies, potential risks, and areas for process improvement.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with cross-functional teams and clients.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to manage relationships with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Adaptability to a variety of industries, business cultures, and client needs.

Functional Knowledge:

  • Deep understanding of core Dynamics 365 F&O, Purchasing & SCM, MML modules, including finance, procurement, supply chain management, manufacturing, and retail.
  • Experience in mapping business processes to Dynamics 365 F&O, Purchasing & SCM, MML functionality and providing configuration and customization solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of integration and data migration practices for Dynamics 365 F&O, Purchasing & SCM, MML.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with Dynamics 365 F&O, Purchasing & SCM, MML architecture, cloud deployment, and best practices.
  • Experience with data migration tools, integrations, and Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps) for extending the capabilities of Dynamics 365.
  • Basic understanding of development concepts, such as X++ and integration patterns, though deep technical expertise is not required.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to interact with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to think critically and provide innovative solutions to complex business challenges.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing projects and guiding teams.
