What is the opportunity?
Join our growing RBC Global Asset Management (GAM) group! As Senior Financial Reporting Analyst, you will assist in preparation of financial statements and other related disclosures You will also be responsible for the valuation and reporting of unit prices for assigned Mutual Funds within fixed deadlines enabling the unitholder systems to properly calculate the value of client’s holdings and process mutual fund transactions.For more information, please visit: https://www.rbcgam.com
Please Note: This is a Contract opportunity for a Fixed Term (2 years)
What will you do?- Assist in preparation of annual and semi-annual financial statements of mutual funds and other related disclosures
- Prepare data for the Management Report of Fund Performance including Top 25 and Investment Mix reports
- Lead month-end general ledger close process, maintaining general ledger integrity
- Assist in preparation of operating reports for IFIC and other industry/regulatory organizations
- Provide financial information and assistance to external and internal auditors
- Perform daily fund accounting activities such as cash, holdings and sub-ledger to ledger, ledger reconciliations and other month end controls
- Ensure all transactions (i.e. corporate actions, unitholder subscriptions and redemptions, management fees, expense accruals, security trades) are entered into the GL System accurately to ensure accuracy of financial data
- Coordinate and collaborate with external auditors to ensure timely and accurate completion of the annual audit, addressing any inquiries and providing necessary financial data
- Oversee cash management activities and perform valuation of private market funds in accordance with internal valuation policies
- Create and implement solutions to streamline financial reporting processes
- Maintaining internal procedures/policies to ensure controls are followed.
- Train staff on operational processes and assist senior staff with daily process queries
- Assist the reporting activities including taking on ad-hoc requests
What you need to succeed?
Must have:
- Post-Secondary education in Finance or related field
- Completion of, active progress towards a recognized Finance/Accounting designation (e.g., CPA)
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience in financial reporting or a related field
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment, with strong communication, time management and problem-solving skills
- Practical knowledge of financial products, IFRS Accounting Standards, mutual fund valuation and general ledger systems.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, including experience in VBA/Macros
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
Nice to have:
- Experience with Tableau and database query languages, including SQL and Python
- Familiarity with Eagle Investment Systems or similar investment accounting platforms
- Experience with pricing/data applications Bloomberg and Thomson One Financial, etc.
