Engineering Support Specialist

Adecco is currently seeking a skilled Engineering Support Specialist to join our client’s team in Cambridge, ON, on a 6-month contract. In this role, you will provide technical support to engineering teams, collaborate on the development and testing of optical hardware, and troubleshoot complex issues related to optical test systems.

You will work in a dynamic, cross-functional environment and have the opportunity to make significant contributions to both engineering processes and product development.

  • Pay rate: $40/hour.
  • Location: Cambridge, ON
  • Shifts: Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm
  • Job type: 6-month contract | Full-time

Responsibilities:

  • Providing technical support and guidance to engineering teams in the area of optical test systems.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and execute project plans for building and testing optical hardware.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving complex engineering issues related to the manufacturing and testing of optical systems.
  • Ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards, as well as customer requirements.
  • Leading and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering processes and overall efficiency.
  • Analyzing optical systems to ensure optimal performance during tests and development stages.
  • Assisting in designing and refining test procedures and systems to improve product quality.
  • Supporting the team in resolving technical challenges that arise during the development and testing phases.
  • Documenting test results and providing technical feedback to senior engineers.
  • Collaborating with quality assurance teams to maintain high standards and resolve any discrepancies.

Requirements:

  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
  • A minimum of 6 years' experience in an advanced technical role supporting optical product-related test systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to work independently and make creative decisions.
  • Effective communication skills with a people-oriented approach to team collaboration and problem resolution.
  • A solid understanding of optical test systems and equipment.
  • Familiarity with standard engineering practices and procedures within the optical or related fields.
  • Eligibility for CGP (Controlled Goods Program) clearance is mandatory.
