Sr. Technical Specialist, Middleware
Job Summary
Seeking a talented and experienced Mainframe z/OS Systems Administrator to join our team in supporting and managing our WebSphere Application Server for z/OS and z Connect Enterprise Edition (zCEE) instances on the Mainframe. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Mainframe Technology and possess experience supporting or have an interest in learning and supporting WebSphere Application Server for z/OS and zCEE on z/OS Mainframe.
Job Description
What will you do?- Working in the middleware support team with a primary focus to provide support for WebSphere Application Server for z/OS and zCEE instances on the z/OS Mainframe Platform.
- Installation, configuration, and maintenance of WebSphere Application Server for z/OS and zCEE on the Mainframe platform.
- Monitoring and performance tuning of WebSphere Application Server for z/OS on the Mainframe Platform.
- Collaboration with development teams to deploy and manage applications on WebSphere Application Server for z/OS in the Mainframe environment.
- Ensure that changes are documented in the RBC change management system and emergency changes destined for the production systems are within the organizational standards.
- Provide 24x7 environment support which requires evening/weekend implementation involvement and On-Call support.
What do you need to succeed?
Must have:
- 5+ years of Mainframe z/OS experience installing, supporting, and troubleshooting issues in the Mainframe environment.
- General key areas of knowledge should be SMP/E, ISPF, SDSF, JES2, SMF, RMF, VSAM, USS, IPCS, Etc.
- Good knowledge of security LDAP and RACF products.
- Good knowledge of Certificate Management with RACF and TLS (setup and troubleshooting).
- Familiarity with scripting languages for automation and monitoring such as JCL, REXX, TSO, Unix Shell scripting, Python, Etc.
- Understanding of TCP/IP and HTTP protocols and well as DVIPA and SYSPLEX DISTRIBUTOR.
- Supporting a 24x7 environment which requires evening/weekend implementation involvement and On-Call support.
Nice to have:
- Working experience on WebSphere Application Server for z/OS and z/OS Connect Enterprise Edition experience.
- Familiarity with scripting languages for z/OS WAS, Jython.
- Experience with Java Application Monitoring and Performance Monitoring tools, preferably Dynatrace.
- Understanding of connectivity CICS, DB2, IMS, MQ concepts and how it integrates with middleware products.
- Experience working with Agile methodology integrated with JIRA and Confluence tools.
