Position: Technical Support Analyst
Primary Location: Toronto, ON
Schedule: 40 hours per week, on-site at our North York office

Reports To: Help Desk Team Lead

About This Role and About You

The Technical Support Analyst provides timely end-user computing software and hardware support for all Chemtrade locations and mobile users, and for the installation, configuration, and on-going support of PC / laptop hardware, software, and related devices.

This position supports corporate servers, administers Microsoft email, and assists with the management of the Wide Area Network, Local Area Network, routers, and firewalls. The Technical Support Analyst recommends and implements IT standards and records (e.g. inventory), and takes day-to-day direction from a team lead or manager as required.

Qualifications
  • Diploma in Information Technology field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience and/or relevant designation required
  • 3 - 5 years of relevant technical support experience required
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Professional Office Suite of products including Outlook, Internet Explorer, and Access
  • Ability to leverage tools such as PowerShell, power automate, excel to more efficiently complete repetitive tasks
  • PC hardware installation and configuration
  • Windows 7/8/10 workstation and 2012-2019 server administration
  • Networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, VPN, security, active directory and DMZ
  • Exchange administration
  • WEB, Proxy servers, and HTML
  • Strong organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Self–starter with ability to work as part of a team
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to learn new processes and technologies quickly

Responsibilities

75 – 90% Support the Help Desk. This includes the following activities:

  • Provide front line support to the end users
  • Install, configure, and support local and remote end-user computing hardware, software, and related devices
  • Participate in and administer the selection and acquisition of software, hardware, and related technology
  • Formulate and update hardware and software standards and policies
  • Prepare and maintain all administration documentation including equipment inventory, asset management, software licensing and system availability statistics for computer and network equipment
  • Administer corporate email system
  • Provide user training, tools, and related documentation
  • Provide support for the Microsoft network and LAN servers
  • Research, recommend, and evaluate new software tools
  • Support and work with vendors and service software/hardware providers to ensure the timely recording and resolution of PC hardware and software problems as per service contracts and agreements
  • Assist with IT network, hardware, and software strategies
  • Ensure that adequate security, backup, and disaster recovery processes are implemented and maintained
10 to 25% Other activities including special projects
  • Assist and take on special projects or activities
  • Support Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) policies and initiatives
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned

Provide off business hour attention as may be required
