AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Reporting to the Supervisor, Municipal Parking Operations, provides customer service to staff and
the public at City owned and operated parking garages.- Respond to parking patron inquiries received on site and/or remotely, ensuring departmental policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Patrol City owned parking garages on a daily basis.
- Provide the public and potential parking patrons with information related to garage access and procedures, including garage locations, parking rates etc., as well as directions to surrounding businesses and services.
- Demonstrate the use of various parking equipment and procedures, including pay on foot machines and entry and exit devices, as required.
- Ensure parking garages and related equipment are maintained to promote a clean and safe environment by performing weekly inspections and general clean up.
- Perform minor repairs and adjustments to parking equipment and software, including, installation of tickets, clearing of jammed tickets and resetting of gate mechanism parameters.
- Identify and report building related maintenance and equipment issues accordingly.
- Perform snow and ice clearing from stairwell and vehicle entrances as required.
- Assist the Traffic Parking Analyst by monitoring and recording vehicle and pedestrian related data, including usage, duration and classification.
- Identify, investigate and report parking related issues and violations accordingly.
- Perform traffic control and/or money collection during peak utilization and/or special events to ensure safe and expedited departure of patrons from the parking garage.
- Perform other similar and related duties as assigned.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
EDUCATION:
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE:
- Over one (1) year, up to and including two (2) years of experience providing customer service.
OTHER SKILLS AND ASSETS:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer service.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
