Assistant Project Manager - Furniture Space Planning

Your role

Our Assistant Project Managers get the opportunity to work with the best Project Managers in the industry and to develop their skills on a diverse range of projects that vary in scope and complexity. Working with our Furniture and Equipment (F&E) Services team, you will get to work on projects in a variety of sectors, scope and complexity.

We are national and work with clients across Canada. This role is hybrid providing you with the opportunity to work from our corporate offices, client sites and home office.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate User Group Meetings to capture Furniture and Equipment requirements for the project.
  • Develop Furniture Standards, F&E lists and budgets.
  • Develop drawings such as F&E test fits, room layouts and/or design concepts using various design software such as AutoCAD, Revit and/or Sketch Up.
  • Create 3D space fit-up modelling and renderings using Revit and/or Sketch Up.
  • Assist with various quality management issues especially as the interface with design drawings and equipment list updates.
  • Support the integration of Revit and BIM360 to our proprietary F&E planning platform.
  • Attend various project meetings, prepare agendas and capture meeting minutes.
  • Provide a communication path between the Project Manager and other project team members.
  • Ensure that project activities are conducted in accordance with Colliers Project Leaders Quality Management System.
  • Vendor Coordination for development of F&E schedules, review of shop drawings and delivery and installation coordination.
  • Support on site inventories, surveys and move/decommissioning tasks.

Qualifications:

  • A university degree or diploma in Interior Design, or Architectural Technology (or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience).
  • Self-motivation, initiative and an eagerness to learn and contribute to meeting project
  • Has a results-oriented approach with the ability to take action and take on responsibilities.
  • Exceptional detail orientation, organizational skills and the ability to prioritize competing tasks to meet tight deadlines and client expectations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Sketch up.
  • Strong computer skills, including a working knowledge of scheduling, word processing (Word) and spreadsheet (Excel) software applications.
  • Previous experience running quality controls and supporting quality assurance processes.
  • Familiarity working for, or with, the Furniture Industry is an asset.
  • This job will require driving among sites – full driving license is preferred.
