Maintenance Mechanic (unlicensed) - Toronto

This position plays a vital role in maintaining efficient plant operations while following all health, safety, and food safety protocols, and completing maintenance documentation accurately.

• Pay Rate: $37.50/hour
• Location: Woodbridge, ON
• Shift: Afternoon Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM, Sunday to Thursday OR Day Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Sunday to Thursday
• Job type: Long term contract | Full-time

Responsibilities:

• Perform assigned preventive and predictive maintenance tasks.
• Use the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to log all maintenance activities, including reactive and emergency repairs.
• Assist in identifying root causes of equipment breakdowns and recommend corrective actions.
• Support the development of maintenance procedures and training documentation.
• Participate in technical projects and collaborate on process improvement initiatives.
• Assist with CMMS improvements and competency-based training programs.
• Provide day-to-day support for plant operations and maintenance teams.
• Collaborate with engineering and licensed trades to implement permanent solutions.
• Be available to support weekend or off-shift work as needed.
• Stay current with technical training offered by equipment manufacturers.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of PPE and Arc Flash protection.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Completion of a diploma or degree in a related Maintenance or Engineering program.
• Preferred specialization in Electrical, Mechanical, or Robotics.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance.
• Prior use of a CMMS system is required.
• Experience in food manufacturing is considered an asset.
• Ability to execute and document planned maintenance tasks.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, drawings, and regulations.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Capable of multitasking and prioritizing under pressure.
• Adaptable to change with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
• Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
