About Our Client

Our Client is a large national retailer and merchandiser that is Canadian owned and operated

• Over of 1-2 direct reports and support them in their role by advising and coaching
• Responsible for the month end close process
• Review journal entries, eliminations and reoccurring entries and accruals along with reconciliations
• Reviewing monthly and quarterly variance analyses
• Assist with the quarterly and annual financial reporting process (group consolidation, preparation of financial statements, MD&A and press release)
• Preparation of monthly internal reporting deliveries to senior management
• Assist with the interim and year-end audit
• Identify financial process improvement opportunities
• Participate in special projects as required
• Liaise with operational and other corporate departments

• CPA or CA Designation
• 4+ years' of experience within the finance and accounting department
• Advanced Excels skills
• Superior organizational and communication skills
• Ability to deal with change in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong Knowledge of IFRS/GAAP when seeing through technical and reporting requirements
• Able to work independently and in a team
• Multi-tasking, adaptability, and adherence to deadlines
• Supervisory experience including the training and mentoring of others
• Conflict management and negotiations
